Project 1) WalkScapes - Janet Cariff
 Media Utilized: Photo, Audio.

"The instructions, which the participants follow, encourage them navigate a space according to the privileged perspective of the Artist. This is similar to how one experiences physical things in sculpture: one navigates the empty space around the sculpture according to its lines and contours, which have been formed by the privileged technique of the artist. In sculpture, one is moved by visual instructions, whereas with the walk one is moved by aural instruction. So in the realm of theory- an audio walk becomes one and the same with a sculpture." - Janet Cariff

Process
a)Create audiowalk of observation, and experience based both: on a walk within public space in the Manhattan KS area and on your own voice of journey and memory.
b)During your walk collect your visual and audio experience focusing on the details of the physical, social and aural environment. Record layers of sound to mix in during editing process. Walk down the direction of your 45minute walk.
c) Edit the audio and or video footage into a seamless  time-base audio experience revealing the nuance and beauty of the everyday. The time of the tour will be based on the duration of the walk.
